FRVS Project Assignments - Innovation of Teaching in the Lighting Laboratory

Principal investigator: Ing. Jan Skoda   Co-investigators: Doc. Ing. Petr Baxant, Ph.D.; Ing. Tomas Pavelka

The project innovated the courses Lighting Technology and Lighting Systems. A new modern workplace was created and ten laboratory assignments were prepared to expand practical knowledge and skills in the field of lighting technology and small light sources, especially LEDs.

These assignments were created within grant project no. 3089 of the Higher Education Development Fund in 2010.

FRVS Project Assignments - Innovation of Laboratory Teaching in the Lighting Laboratory

The project focused on innovation of laboratory teaching in the courses Lighting Technology and Lighting Systems. Its output was a workplace for measurements in lighting systems using a wireless data acquisition system. Seven new laboratory assignments were prepared so that students could verify their theoretical knowledge through independent measurements.

These assignments were created within grant project no. 3215/2011/G1 of the Higher Education Development Fund in 2011.

The course focuses on fundamentals of light, photometry, colorimetry and artificial light sources. Laboratory work is aimed at correct identification of measuring instruments and quantities, proper measurement conditions and correct evaluation of measured values.
